Mechanics’ Pond

Transcription:

My Dear Friend,

I hope you are well. Pardon my long delay, but I have not been very well or did not feel like writing or doing anything else. I have nervous spells, and when I do have an awful time with my head, and I just keep still if I can, for I suffer so with the headache. I have been sick for 6 years and under 3 operations, been in the hospital some time. I guess I ought to be discouraged, don’t you?

Yours,
