Show and Tell – Sharing History and Stories from the Community

On Thursday, October 16th, members and guests gathered at the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum for one of the Society’s most popular annual programs—Show and Tell. This always-anticipated event invites attendees to bring their own artifacts, photographs, and stories to share, sparking lively conversation and discoveries about our city’s past.

The evening featured a wide range of presentations and personal treasures. Gary shared fascinating items from the Robbins collection, offering insight into one of Attleboro’s notable families and their contributions to local history. A highlight of the night was a close look at a Frank Mossberg ratchet set, the invention that helped put Attleboro’s industrial ingenuity on the map—Mossberg is credited with inventing the ratchet wrench itself. The program also included a look at the original architectural plans for the King House on Holden Street, providing a rare glimpse into the craftsmanship and design of one of Attleboro’s historic homes.

As always, the event blended storytelling, curiosity, and community spirit. Whether attendees came to listen or to share, the evening celebrated the city’s shared heritage and the personal connections that bring history to life.
