The National Trust for Historic Preservation is the largest organization dedicated to historic preservation in America. The scope of their work is staggering, and their results impressive. The Massachusetts Historical Commission is responsible for the states part in preserving our history. In addition to running many programs, the Massachusetts State Archives is also under this departments oversight.
 

Historic New England ( formerly SPNEA, Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities) is focused on our corner of America. The Codman Estate in Lincoln, and over 30 other properties and collections are under the stewardship of this group.

 The Attleboro Historic Preservation Society  is working hard to promote a appreciation of our local history. The East Attleboro Academy has received at least a temporary reprieve due to this organizations efforts.
